We have some exciting news to share!

Mazuma’s President and CEO, Deonne Christensen, announced that we will be opening a new location “in the heart of Kansas City’s east side” in 2026 during Reconciliation Services’ third annual Hike for Reconciliation event on Saturday, November 8th. This branch, which will be located across the street from our incredible Community Partner, Reconciliation Services, in the RS Impact Exchange Building at 31st and Troost, will allow us to serve our Kansas City community in a new location and in new ways.

New Mazuma Branch in 2026

The new branch location, tentatively slated to open in Spring 2026, creates exciting possibilities for living Mazuma’s purpose through investing in our community and bringing accessible financial products and services to the heart of Kansas City’s east side. Our collaboration with Reconciliation Services will enable us to share financial well-being resources, champion local businesses, and co-create innovative new ways to make a positive impact.

“The world needs more partnerships like this one,” said Fr. Justin Mathews, CEO of Reconciliation Services, “where organizations come together to promote dignity and unity, and to be each other’s advocates.”

Revealing Strength in Kansas City

Reconciliation Services is a local nonprofit working to “reveal strength in our Kansas City community” through initiatives including Thelma’s Kitchen, the Foster Grandparents Program, and REVEAL Social and Mental Health Services.

Mazuma’s partnership with Reconciliation Services goes back many years and includes volunteering at Thelma’s Kitchen, participating in the Hike for Reconciliation, providing Mazuma Foundation Grants, contributing to the capital campaign that helped fund the renovation of RS’s headquarters, and more. Our common values, collaborative spirit, and shared vision of service to our community provide a strong foundation for this new location’s exciting potential.

We look forward to sharing more insights, information, and inspiration with you as we continue this journey together!
