We held our annual Give Back Day, an organization-wide day of service to the Kansas City community, on Monday, October 13th. This year, nearly 200 Mazuma Team Members shared their time and effort with 9 local non-profits at 15 locations across the city!
Give Back Day is part of our 40 Hours for Good program, which provides Team Members with 40 hours of paid volunteer time each year to facilitate community engagement. Our purpose is “Making Kansas City a Better Place to Live, Work, and Bank,” and Give Back Day is one of many opportunities each year for our Team Members to put this ethos into practice by volunteering with local organizations in support of their positive impact.
This diverse array of local non-profit partners enabled our Team Members to make a positive impact on a wide range of populations throughout Kansas City.

We always appreciate the chance to spend time volunteering, connecting with each other, and learning about local organizations and their missions. “Give Back Day is my favorite day of the year! It’s always inspiring to come together with other Mazumans, roll up our sleeves, and make a real difference,” said Alexa Graham, Mazuma’s Digital Services Leader, “It makes me so proud to be part of Mazuma, because we create opportunities to go out and give back to our community.”
For the non-profit groups that partner with Mazuma, Give Back Day provides vital volunteer engagement and a chance to create ongoing relationships. “Volunteers make our work possible,” says Bob Pentuic, Volunteer & Development Coordinator at Community LINC, a local organization that empowers families to build brighter futures. “From preparing apartments for new unhoused to families to move into, to teaching budgeting and finance to the parents we serve, we are lucky to have Mazuma as a partner. Their commitment to underserved communities stands out in Kansas City.”
This focus on volunteer engagement is a central component of our mission, which prioritizes making a positive difference for our Members and the communities in which they live. We’re already looking forward to next year’s Give Back Day!
