| "People helping
people" is what Mazuma Credit Union is about.
As a valued Member and co-owner in our financial "family,"
your needs are our first priority. Mazuma is a not-for-profit,
financial cooperative which means we can offer our
Members
higher yields on
savings accounts and lower rates
on loans. All earnings are returned to you, the Member,
in the form of dividends, lower loan
rates, lower fees, and better
services.
What's
So Special About Credit Unions?
- Credit Unions are not-for-profit
institutions owned and operated by YOU,
our MEMBER.
- Money saved in the
Credit Union goes to work as loans to help fellow
MEMBERS
buy a car, improve a home, send a child to college
or for any of a thousand reasons.
- MEMBERS
make up the board of directors, who manage and elect
officers to handle the business and operation of the
Credit Union.
- MEMBERS
make up the supervisory committee which makes sure
the Credit Union is run correctly.
- Credit Unions serve
only their MEMBERS.
There are no outside stockholders - all net earnings
after expenses are paid out to MEMBERS
in dividends or retained in reserves as capital.
To become a Member, simply
deposit twenty-five dollars into a savings (share)
account
and complete our online membership
application, or stop by one of our offices
and join us today. You'll be amazed at the difference
membership makes! You can be a Member if you live
or
work in Jackson County.
